DLM screen – External RS-485 meter

Once an external meter is directly connected via RS-485 physical interface with the charging station, and RS‑485 meter is selected in the Metering device field, the following options of the Dynamic load management screen appear. Below is an example screen that may vary depending on other settings on the screen.

An edit icon is displayed next to the value only if you have permission to modify it; otherwise, the value is read-only. 

 

1 – Toggle to enable/disable the dynamic load management (DLM) functionality.

When the DLM functionality is enabled, additional options appear below; when disabled, the options are hidden.

2 – RS-485 Meter is selected as the type of metering device for the DLM functionality.

3 – Select a type of the meter that is connected to the charging station via the RS-485 communication interface.

4 – The unique identifier assigned to the meter on the RS-485 communication network, enabling data transmission.
Set/View the Modbus RTU address of the electricity meter, ensuring it is unique within the RS-485 network or bus segment to allow proper communication with connected devices.

5 – Tap Charging station’s RS-485 Configuration to set/view additional RS‑485 communication configuration for the meter connected to the charging station.

6 – State of your connection to the metering device / input and its extended description. Possible statuses:

– Connected – Metering connection is successfully established.
– Connection failed - Check your meter’s connection and configuration.
– Invalid values – Measurements received from the metering device are not valid.

7 – Real-time measurements obtained from the connected meter.

8 – Phase limits section displays maximum current limitations for the DLM.
