🛠️ Tools required

  • 7mm spanner

  • Large Phillips screwdriver

  • Small Phillips screwdriver

⚙️ Spare parts required

  • Capactior PCG-1765

Issue description: Inch Duo is in booting stage and the reboot of the station doesn't help.

Sometimes this happens due to voltage fluctuations on the motherboard. The SOM then becomes corrupted and stays in boot loop.

To prevent the voltage fluctuations we recommend to replace the motherboard with never version that has different capacitor(H-1029-A) or add a specially crafted cable with the capacitor (PCG-1765), guide how to add it in INCH Duo can be found here /wiki/spaces/EKC/pages/3650846721 .

Here you can access a guide for replacing the motherboard in INCH DUO: /wiki/spaces/EKC/pages/3635019901

Replacement process:

Hold the SOM with fingers and carefully lift it (SOM is connected to the motherboard with two multi pin connectors and two PCB spacers – marked in red)

Install PCB spacers on motherboard and align new SOM with PCB spacers and multi pin connectors on motherboard.

Firmly press on SOM to secure the connection with motherboard (audible click).
