My INCH Basic Configuration

After the physical and electrical installation of INCH and INCH Duo chargers you need to go through the basic setup of the charging station in the MyINCH web interface. If not, we recommend that you watch the MyINCH intro video first.
The first configuration is always done with INCH or INCH Duo connected directly to a PC or LAN network with an ethernet cable. After that you need to open the web browser of your choice on your device, and enter either IP address or serial number dot local in the address bar. After that it will present a login page of the INCH charger, and we can connect to it using the default credentials root@etrel.com and t o o r as password.
After login you will be presented with the dashboard view and we can start with the basic setup of the INCH charger.
The configuration is the same for INCH and INCH Duo The only major difference is setting up the second connector that exists on the INCH Duo.
All the basic configuration is done in the Configuration submenu, accessible through the menu button in the top left corner.

First we need to setup device mode of Charger. For INCH chargers there are 3 options, Home charger, Private or Public and Custom.
Selecting Home charger will put charger into plug and charge mode, meaning any time anyone will connect charger with it’s vehicle it will immediately start charging without any authorization.
Private, Public charger will allow you to select different charging authorization and options, you can also put charger into plug and charge mode if you would like to. We will cover this in another video dedicated to different charging authorizations.
We will setup charger as Private/Public one and we will move on onto next part of configuration, setting up information that will show on chargers LCD screen.
Section that we are interested into is which information is displayed during charging. Normally customers want to know charging power and consumed energy and sometimes session time. We check appropriate checkboxes and click save on the bottom of the screen.
Next we will go into EVSE’s configuration. Here we will see major difference between INCH and INCH Duo, where DUO have additional section for configuring second socket on charger.
First there is and friendly EVSE code, this is used internally between chargers for payments et ecetera, and for very basic setup in simple scenarios is not important.
Next section of options is how charger is connected to the electrical grid. If we connected charger to single phase we need to select single phase and then select appropriate phase to which charger is connected relative to house installation. This is very important when using multiple chargers and or having Etrel Load guard monitoring building consumption.
This specific charger is connected to all three phases. Then we select appropriate phases to which charger is physically connected. Make sure you selected correct ones.
Bellow we can find what kind of connector charger uses. Here we have socket type charger, we can also have cable type, but nothing is really different except plug locking selection.
For charging standard we have only option. Most important thing is setting Maximum charging current for three phase. Don’t forget that vehicles cannot be charged asymmetrically so this is the maximum for every phase. Make sure your electrical installation allows selected current.
We can set up different current for single phase cars if needed, just select box and new option will show where you select maximum current for single phase vehicles.
After we are satisfied with settings, we click save. On the top right it will open an pop-up that will prompt us to restart the charger in order to apply settings, we will do that later.

INCH DUO
For INCH duo, there will be additional Section called EVSE 2, and here we set-up charging settings for right socket on the duo. You will notice Phases are connected a bit different from factory. That is because phases in INCH Duo are shifted by one internally in the DUO charger, so if you connect your charger differently please select appropriate installation phases.
Then we will move to Time and regional settings. Here we can select different languages for your market, but what is more important here is synchronizing time on the charger. From factory clock is sometimes out of sync because internal RTC losses charge over some period of time. We can synchronize time with computers time simply by clicking button Synchronize time. This is important because in this case we can check statistics, session and other data more easily. Click save on the bottom and we can move on.
Because we set up charger in private/public mode we need to go to charging authorization. Here we will select plug and charge, but other options are also available. This means that every time anyone that will connect vehicle to charger will immediately start charging
Local users is list of users saved on station that can authorize and charge.
Central system only is used when we have charger connected to backend, and all the authorization runs through selected backend.
Last option is charger whitelist and central system. For instance we can send whitelist of users to charger from Ocean and charger will check if user exists on charger and it will start charging.

For home users we normally select Plug and Charge.
Click save on the bottom and we will move onto Connectivity settings.
By default chargers come with DHCP enabled, which means that IP address is assigned by DHCP server, and we can check IP address of the station from service menu, with long press on button in service are of the INCH charger or on the motherboard for the INCH Duo. We can also designate static IP address by deselecting Enable DHCP checkbox, and write into the empty fields IP address that we want, together with Netmask and gateway.
Click Save on the bottom.
If we are using GSM communication we need to go to GSM connectivity and enter APN, username and password provided from your SIM card provider.
If using WiFi, we can either click wifi icon in the top right of interface, or go to WiFi connectivity settings menu, and connect to desired wifi. There are some limitations regarding WiFi networking which are described on our knowledge base.
After all that we are finished with basic setup of your INCH charger and we can finally restart charging station to apply settings. In order to do that we can go to Diagnostics menu and hit Restart.
After reboot we can test charging either with designated tester or actual vehicle if everything is set up correctly.
